@ninjatrappeur Thanks! All my aliases for committing at the command line use it, I was meaning to look for it in fugitive as well.
Experimenting with using fugitive as my interface to stage and commit work. Hopefully committing fewer temp files, a regular mistake for me. https://github.com/tpope/vim-fugitive
@JordiGH https://xkcd.com/386 was literally life-changing for me.
@boobs_idiot p sure it was the media
None of the 10 sites I've domain-banned from Barnacl.es for consultancy "content marketing" spam have even contacted me, let alone pretended at contrition.
@CobaltVelvet If you find anything, please post, I'm also frustrated by how slow ansible is: https://github.com/lobsters/lobsters-ansible/issues/31
Period reminder that Americans have almost no privacy rights in public/stores and businesses are planning to track everywhere you go and every dollar you spend: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/22/technology/amazon-facial-recognition.html
Don't put animated gifs next to words you want people to read or in articles you want them to finish. Movement captures the eye and enormously distracts from your work. News sites do it because they don't care if you finish, they get paid for the ads if you click to another page.
@JordiGH If you're in Firefox, Cookie AutoDelete is a must-install. Whitelist the couple sites you visit daily, aggressively expire cookies from the rest.
@brainwane I like adding an 'S' to make 'HALTS', for 'sick'.
@JordiGH This is a half-baked idea, but I'm coming around to thinking that "leveling up" is immoral. It trains players to think time = success and gives a false sense of mastery and control when the younger people playing these games have shrinking economic potential and are ignored politically. If I were conspiracy-minded, I'd call it propaganda.
@JordiGH Maybe that explains the rising popularity of the "friend zone" concept.
@JordiGH I wonder if it's narcissism. Movies and video games teach you that you're incredibly important and living an exciting story. That's now how the world works and you'll be very ill-equipped to succeed if you only know "Chosen One" when life is more like the uncut version of the training montage. Your whole script for culture and success is wrong.
Chicago's summer was convicted of acting corruptly in its public duties and has been incarcerated in the governor's wing in Joliet.
Every year I love a little more that, no joke, the official Illinois Secretary of State's office lives at CyberDriveIllinois.com.
@technomancy Hey, I knew that one. Someone sent that to me after they saw a book I made: https://www.wellsortedversion.com
@liw My point is that email is so centralized on Google now that the benefits of federation are lost. If they say "because of spam, you have to use gmail or sign up for our trusted sender program", every business has to sign up, they can't afford not to. And individuals get to pick if they want to burn down every relationship. It's a shitty "choice".
@liw My personal email has never been on Google, but >90% of people I talk to are. Google owns email.
@phil I hope not, but I do expect it. I think it'll take the form of them introducing some kind of "trusted sender" anti-spam program that eventually becomes mandatory.
