Did you hear about the Uber "I have the D" thing?
I'm well acquainted with this D. Let's have The D Tootstorm. 1/
So Uber's getting a lot of side-eye for this nudge-nudge say-no-more
bit of ridiculous corporate jargon: https://slate.com/technology/2018/06/uber-ceo-dara-khosrowshahi-urges-employees-say-have-the-d-meetings.html 2/
I have to wonder... does Uber have The D Coaster? 3/
Does Uber have The Matching D Stationary? 4/
Does Uber have The D Door Sticker, The D Floormat, The D Placemat, The D Table Stand, and The D Toddler-friendly Mobile in every God-D meeting room? 5/
I have probably never said something in defense of Uber before, but I photographed all this ridiculous D swag at an enormous multinational company in 2014. It's a ridiculous but pre-existing tool for helping dysfunctional companies run meetings. 7/
An employee told me they had a serious problem with the D coasters in meeting rooms because young employees kept making off with The D.
(And yes, of course, I snagged myself The D.) /8
