Making you feel cool and mature by talking about that stuff with them and "being chill" is a manipulation tactic. Telling you about other people who were immature or uncool is called "grooming" and is a way of manipulating you.

It's really difficult for survivors to come forward about abuse from popular artists. It's *extremely* difficult when you're a youth coming forward about an older adult who has authority, maturing, social knowledge, and can easily EASILY gaslight you and write you off as lying.

Our instinct should be to believe survivors. Period.

There's an incident now that's happened which I won't get into; but this is a Communal Pattern among furries, artists, our little queer communities. It happened with shrmoky. It's happening again with purplekecleon/glitchedpuppet/whatever.
