@jk similar to a peyote, but much more coy.
@jk That's interesting, especially coming from someone that ebuys things for 0.00.
@mayuutann Insufficient data points.You could draw any number of lines/curves using (237, 1728) and (412, unknown variable) as the coordinates.
@mayuutann Keep it warm and give it some rest then... It'll get better.
@mayuutann *myalgic, when you use it as an adjective.
Maybe you used it too much?
@craigmaloney It survived 30 years of Hulk Hogan's ego after he bodyslammed Andre the Giant in front of 93000 people, so it was probably built to last.
@angristan https://powercompare.co.uk/bitcoin/
"In the past month alone, Bitcoin mining electricity consumption is estimated to have increased by 29.98%
If it keeps increasing at this rate, Bitcoin mining will consume all the world’s electricity by February 2020."
With an exponential increase in users/transactions, I'm beginning to worry about the technical viability as well. (If this report is accurate and not just propaganda by the establishment, of course)
@gargron Using the "royal we," are we now, Eugen? Has being at the helm of a social network got to our heads then?
Don't worry... You'll find someone.
@apLundell If I went to the doctor and he said "We have a new system this year, instead of a needle, you can be immunized by putting spiders in your hair and running naked through a tiger enclosure." I would inquire as to the details of his medical degree and board of registration.
@angristan Yeah, but it still is a risky investment. Not much for technical or economic reasons, but mostly for political ones.
Governments that are losing global economic advantage will be looking for scapegoats and bitcoin will likely be one. All it takes to weaken a currency is loss of faith, which is readily achievable by political means. It is easy to paint something as the bad guy when most of the population doesn't know how it works.

Reddit can be weird at times...
Perhaps there could be something similar to CW (maybe a "show toot" thingie) on the receiver side of things... Like, when you don't want to mute/block someone, but you usually need a few seconds pause because they are very outspoken about their opinions on durian fruit or whatever.
You know there is a bit of inherent classism in yourself when you are watching Blue Planet II and you get slightly more excited whenever a member of the class Mammalia appears.
I'm not feeling lazy... I'm just conserving energy like physics told me to.
And I'm staying in a state of rest until an external force acts upon me, so help me Newton.
Good night!
@angristan Who Invented Pants?
Probably the hunter-gatherer whose job it was to skin the bottom half of the hunt.
@angristan I'm not sure myself... Maybe you could try to attract some artists or have a fun contest or something.
@angristan You might want to give mstdn.io something to attract users with specific interests that are more likely to interact with each other. For 5000 users it has very little local activity.
(Disclaimer: I have a couple of accounts in your instance and want to see it thrive...)
@masklayer The elephants that Mastodon runs on:
@mayuutann
You go to a destination, but arrive at it.
"I am going to work."
"I have now arrived at work."
To is more dynamic, that is it involves the process of moving.
At is more static.
