2/2: People are 'overweight' for a variety of reasons. My reasons are not the same as others.

But I wanted to join back in to mainstream shopping. I wanted to go to IRL shops and try things on and look at myself and not feel miserable. Yes, sizing is inconsistent, plus-size male fashion is mostly polyester crap, and the fashion industry is sizeist, ableist, and gross. But I want to wear nice things because I like wearing nice things.

So today, I'm happy *for me*. Just for me.

1/2: I have been working with an exercise physiologist and a dietitian for two years. This has been hard, but I am stronger, more active, and I have about 25kg.

Having just got my new jeans back from the tailors I am now head-to-toe in my first serious clothes purchases in 4 or 5 years. I feel great, I look fucking good, and I am comfortable in my own skin for the first time in what feels like forever.

This is not strength of character, or a weakness that I have overcome.

*I quite like Kitson but through random chance saw 7 and a half hours of him in two shows and a film this #micf which kind of burned me out.

@groofay his 14-minute nuke-the-site-from-orbit on the topic of 'Top Gear' is still one of the finest sequences of pure outrage in modern comedy. Closely followed by the 'Paul Nuttall of the Ukips' bit.

@SuzanEraslan I think the "you were wonderful, darling" culture of theatre is a real barrier to constructive criticism. In a small, pretty tight-knit scene like here in Melbourne it seems very easy to define in- and out-crowds based on "they didn't say nice things about it". The job of peer review isn't boosterism. That's not to say it's about tearing down (subjectively) bad art. I think maybe visual art has better peer-critique models...

@SuzanEraslan yeah, i know... I'm on a peer awards panel, but a lot of our decision-making doesn't get communicated back (except in the annual awards ceremony). I feel like there ought to be some transparent way of saying *why* something doesn't come up to the standard without being the bloke fronting up to the director/cast/creatives and scolding them at drinks...

Second #theatre show for the week at the fine old Court House Hotel in #norfie. I like theatre more than work, that's very sure.
