I should feel proud and excited and even ecstatic to have submitted my PhD, but I just feel numb and directionless. For almost 5 years it's been this constant thing, and now it's just... nothing.
@prismatic7 that is totally normal. I'm not sure why - might have something to do with the structure of a PhD and how there isn't much of a defined end point. Or the exploitative dynamics.
Congratulations on doing a really exhausting, challenging thing.
@prismatic7 that's the commonest feeling in this situation. Myself and some friends I've talked to have experienced exactly the same thing when submitting our theses.
