@mrgah Okay, no, seriously, how have you not seen the Ashes to Ashes video? Or am I just showing my age at this point?

@mrgah (well, really, if you’re on an 80s tip you should be checking out The Specials, and Culture Club and the rest of the good stuff, but you started with the Olivia Newton-John thing)

@mrgah Back in the day. On VHS, naturally. It’s about the most 80s thing ever. Something about magic roller-skates and walkmans. If your on an 80s tip, you should check it out.

I had forgotten how much early-career Kerbal Space Program is about painstaking aerobraking.

@mrgah As I’ve said before, the lyrics to “Waterloo” are just bloody disturbing.

Via b3ta. Too well done for words.

@harmlessgryphon You can’t open source certification.

@mtomasulo I’ve got a bunch of disks which are fine, in an enclosure which mounts sometimes. Years ago, I’d build a white box pc to hold them, but avoiding that was why I bought the enclosure in the first place. I’ve even got an unopened spare, in case RAID magic was going to save my data. Dunno what to do, so it just sits there, taunting me.

@baldur The other day my phone bundled up a load of photos of my now-deceased cats and presented them to me without asking. Not bloody happy about that.

I bought a brass micrometer from AliExpress.

Basically everything about that is wrongness.

So apparently we’re going from “28C at midnight” to “be prepared for flash floods” in two days.

I’m sure I remember when the variability of Melbourne weather was an amusing, but mild, trope.

So this iPad is now too hot to hold, if out of its cover, and I can’t imagine staying in the cover would be doing it any good.

If we have to pay stupid Australian prices for tech doodads, it’d be great if they were designed for local conditions.

@mtomasulo Par for the course in my experience. ☹️

Just spent half an hour installing some software on the new machine before realising it all relied on a classic-shaped USB port.

Cracking a beer now.

So what do I need to do to make Plex understand that this The Outer Limits isn’t that The Outer Limits?!

Planning myself the biggest, butteriest bacon butty I can assemble for dinner tonight.

Why yes, the SO is away on a work thing. How did you guess?

So my media centre seems to be getting a lot of attention from a script-kiddie in Hanoi.

I’m choosing to believe that this is cooler than boring old Chinese or Russian attacks.

(Though yes, I am Taking Steps)

Oh goodie! It’s “stay up all night and shout with your friends” night next door.

It must be a day.
