@sparcipx makes sense :-)
@solderpunk FED/Zorki is a Leica clone, Kiev is a Contax clone, so.. I would prefer Kiev :-) even when it is bigger.
You need to use 36 megs of RAM in VBox to be able to boot #NetBSD 8.0 😞 With less, init is killed
@solderpunk check this one out 🤤 https://bazar.fotoskoda.cz/b960058227-cz-petri-automate
@solderpunk Hmm, I think my Minolta SLR takes weird battery as well, but it was possible to use 2 different ones (I think it is a battery with 44 in it as well, but I am not sure about the full name).
@solderpunk
Well, in this range, Minolta was preferred. As far as I saw. But yeah, this little device seems to have a nice optics. That reminds me that I should take my Kiev for a walk as well :-)
@v6shell so many topics to cover :-) also, I want to test your shell in my VBox installation, just to be sure that I do not screw my "production" machine :-) downloaded dotfiles, ready to go.
@solderpunk I do not know why it is on a lomography web, but this is nice "review" https://www.lomography.com/magazine/5436-yashica-35-me
@v6shell Will use it instead of blog section on my web. Easier to maintain :-) than html
@v6shell Haha, very slowly :-D But, as I can see, I am online with my phlog again gopher://sdf.org:70/0/users/pkotrcka/phlog/2018/0001
@v6shell Thank you 🙂
@solderpunk And I hope you will write about it - both about the trip and your camera experience 😃
@solderpunk Cloudy day = 90 percent of days between September and April in Finland 😃
@solderpunk
But I'm sure you'll like shooting with your new film camera. I recommend ilford films (hp5) and a yellow filter for cloudy days :-)
@solderpunk I do not have any experience with Petri, it ws just recommended by a shop owner here in Prague and he is in the business for about 40+ years, having probably the biggest second hand camera shop here.
sdf.org account validated, let the fun begin
@solderpunk well, the ultimate rangefinder is leica with retractable lens 🙂 but older FED and Zorki can do a good job as well. My Kiev 4 is not that smaller compared to SLR, but it is fun to shoot with. Your Yashica will be great, enjoy it. Also, check Petri cameras if you find them somewhere - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petri_Camera
So jealous about @kensanata plans for this summer. That hiking trail looks great 🙂
Happily taking notes with my newest pen #pelikan
Created my new sdf.org account, sent a validation fee, now in the process of waiting 🙂
