@rugk 1. Ja, wir sind noch nicht besonders weit. Genau darum wollte ich darauf aufmerksam machen, dass es drängt daran zu arbeiten. Man könnte ja zur Sicherheit auch doppelt verschlüsseln (klassisch + quantum), dann hat man immer noch das aktuelle Schutzniveau.

Thunderbird ist noch nicht nicht gepatcht, HTML-Ansicht deaktivieren hilft einstweilen (wenngleich wohl nicht vollständig).
Die Enigmail-Erweiterung wurde gepatcht, behebt Thunderbird-Problem aber nicht.
Die Torbirdy-Erweiterung verhindert u.a. HTML-Ansicht in der Voreinstellung und soll damit das Problem beseitigen (auch mit ungepatchtem Thunderbird).

Apparently the GNUPG project have pointed out you can mitigate this "super scary" attack by using plain text mail.
The EFF telling everyone to disable and remove PGP encryption is frankly a bit silly.
