Quiet and activity-filled morning in with the kid while Mommy is at work. Got a bunch of tiny desk concerts queued up and an art project to start. Happy Saturday...

Happy Solstice. The first full day of Winter is gloomy and rainy so we’re bringing the light even when the sun is up.
Happy Solstice to all. Tonight we celebrate the sacred darkness. Tonight we are thankful for healing rest, for gestation, for nourishment that is given to us from the darkest of places. The truth is not revealed to us with our eyes, for it lies waiting in the night without form or any substance we can comprehend. We give thanks to the intangible mystery, and honor the sacred darkness, the source of this life, and the receiver of all that the Sun gives. Without night, there is no breath. Exhale.

Client: This has been broken for two weeks. When will it be fixed? I wanna talk to a manager.
Me: When did you first report it being broken?
Client: Just now.
Me: So, you knew it was broken for two weeks and didn't say anything until just now?
Me: So how the fuck was I supposed to know it needed to be fixed?
Last boost: one of my biggest buttons to push, don’t yell at me over something I had little to no control over. Flaaaaames.

If you've always wanted to deal with the aftermath of half-assed decisions made decades ago by a perfect stranger, home ownership may be for you.
Hey, if you're not immunocompromised and don't have an egg allergy, GET YOUR FLU SHOT.
Also, vaccinate your kids. Against everything, even the classics we haven't seen for a bit (e.g. measles, mumps, rubella). Give them the HPV vaccine before they complete puberty, so that they have it before they're remotely sexually active.
Diseases are no joking matter. Prevent them where possible. In some places, measles kills up to 1 in 20 kids it infects. Some strains of HPV cause cancer. Don't risk it.
