Battery didn't even leak, and it's got a 1GB SD card on there. Probably my mom's or my brother's? It has that 00's rubbery plastic that gets sticky, but it hasn't gotten sticky yet. Anyone have preservation hints?
@phooky i would also like to know about preservation hints for sticky old rubbery plastic, because of the pitch bend and modulation knobs on my old midi keyboard
@ranjit a bit of research later, it looks like the Nexus 6 situation (the replicant, not the phone). The soft touch rubber that burns twice as bright lasts half as long. Revel in your time!
@phooky You can clean the rubber with isopropyl alcohol and that'll get rid of the sticky layer but it's not a permanent fix. I don't know of a permanent solution for it getting nasty aside from stripping it off and replacing it with something else.
The sticky rubbery stuff will come off with rubbing alcohol. I'm unclear as to whether this takes the rubbery coating off entirely or just the sticky stuff. Probably the former, but a slick surface is better than a sticky one.
