see the blurry laptop in the banner image on this page?
try selecting text on it.

I *think* this is the person responsible for this silly wizardry, btw:

@phooky flip the contenteditable attribute on it with the inspector and you can even edit it in-place ;p

@djsundog @phooky I didn’t have to flip any attributes, it was just editable for me

also remember to refresh, you’ll get different text each time

@bhtooefr @phooky

"why is our AWS spend up 25% this month?"

"fediverse found the screen thing in the dev portal microsite"

@djsundog @phooky I like how it gave me hitchhikers guide text mode. this is fantastic

this is super neat when it loads

unfortunately the whole site disappears with cookies disabled :/

@phooky @pixouls Okay, that is a gimmick, but it’s a really cool gimmick.

@phooky Correction; for some reason, it is now working. I'm wondering if one of my plug-ins was interfering earlier.

And, yeah, this is kind of fun. :)

1) why would they do that
2) i am very happy that they did that

@phooky what is this? I get a bunch of what looks like JavaScript code

@murph @phooky can you open a browser console and see output to stdout or stderr? I’m on iOS.

@cnx @murph @shom @phooky

Ok, now that is hilarious. So it’s all just a joke?!

def self.reporter_class(type)
case type
when :test_rail
require 'res/reporters/test_rail'
when :hive
require 'res/reporters/hive'
when :testmine
require 'res/reporters/testmine'
when :lion
require 'res/reporters/lion'
raise "Invalid Reporter type"

@phooky You can also edit it.

And you can copy it into an editor to read it. There seem to be quite a few different text snippets and a new one is chosen each time you reload.

One of them starts with:

Infocom interactive fiction - a science fiction story
Copyright (c) 1984 by Infocom, Inc. All rights reserved.
Release 59 / Serial number 851108

Actually, looks like it's different every time you reload the page!

@Halo @phooky It’s a photo and then they’ve blacked out the screen and instead put in text (that’s been blurred and tilted with CSS) so you can select it and cut and paste it to a text editor to read the code in the monitor. It’s just an easter egg but wow.
