How to (non-destructively) disable unwanted fonts in #Debian and #Ubuntu #Linux: https://phoikoi.io/2018/04/27/disable-unwanted-fonts-linux.html
people are fuckers. Gitlab.com is offering free service, unlimited private repos, open source software, and when the site is slow, not even down but slow, ppl on twitter are like "you guys sucks / why u so slow, etc…" Come one cut them some slack, they do their best !!

Really, asking "what should replace Facebook" is putting things the wrong way around.
A more interesting way to ask the question is, "what did Facebook replace."
People used to build their own websites. People used to have blogs. People used USENET which was truly distributed and un-censorable.
Facebook and Google took the open internet and open standards and monetized and made everything crappy. Enough of that. Nothing should replace Facebook, it's done, stick a fork in it.

Thought this was a good piece, from Tim Winton, on the contested concept of masculinity.
This. If you're going to make a Bootstrap site, use this theme. Do it.

#introduction post:
I'm Peter; I'm a techie sort, specializing in Python, Django, Linux, Mac, Raspberry Pi and Arduino. I also make fonts as a noddy hobby, including "VT323" at the Google font library.
*I'm looking for new employment/gig opportunities.*
I'm also a fan of creative fooding, cats, growing green things, photography, architecture, etc. Generally mostly leftist, definitely non-theist. I blog (irregularly) at phoikoi.io, and try to be nice to people (regularly).
@phoikoi I'm also a big fan of the Viridis color palettes: https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/viridis/vignettes/intro-to-viridis.html
Also, here's another #colorblindness -friendly palette, this one with 7 colors, from someone with more expertise than me: http://mkweb.bcgsc.ca/colorblind/
"People just submitted it. I don't know why. They trust me. Dumb fucks."
Web Annoyancess CSS
This is a stylesheet I've been crafting over the past few months to nuke various WWW annoyances.
Mostly nags, some adverts, cookie reminders, and so very, very, very many "social" icons.
It is aimed to break as little as possible, though no guarantees.
But this one should work globally with Stylus, the CSS manager extension for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari.
Here's a 4-color palette that's friendly to all #colorblindness variants as far as I know: (000, 26c, f64, fe8)
I used this site to test--it's quite handy. (Not affiliated at all, just happy it's around): http://www.color-blindness.com/coblis-color-blindness-simulator/
Can we bust people for trickle-down economics? Please?
