Instagram: My life is a party.
Snapchat: My life is a quirky TV show.
Facebook: My life turned out great!
Twitter: We're all going to die.
Mastodon: Don't worry, while we are on a quirky, meandering path towards an inevitable apocalypse, we might as well enjoy the ride and show eachother some love in an unorthodox, yet irresistible manner, not in any way hindered by considerations of style, identity or consistency.

Happy to announce the release of Code Shifter, sci-fi fiction aimed at kids with elements of real Clojure code in it http://www.codeshifterbook.com/
Yes, there are languages other than english on the federated timeline, quel horreur!!. This is a feature, not a bug. Insisting that it is only english is horrible for more reasons than I have space to talk about here.
If you do want to suggest something to get a timeline where you can read all the posts don't be a racist dickbag while you do it.
Example: asking for language tags on toots may actually be useful, saying something about escaping the rice and sushi is fucking terrible

So like, I know my bank has my best interests (or perhaps its own) in mind when it refuses to take a mobile deposit of a check that's missing a corner. The government issued this check, but in doing so somehow shaved a corner off. The problem is that I already endorsed the check which means it's almost as good as cash, so when I transport it to the bank to be inspected for deposit, I will be carrying around cash that I didn't plan on carrying. Thanks, coders.
@shanaqui Thanks Google!
:joy: Good news: Hidden piles are only 5% or less my problem!
Yesterday I managed to review and file the entire backlog of Dad's known papers (since 2014), excepting some of the more well-hidden piles. Today I will do the same with my own paperwork from the same timeframe, and also investigate the more well-hidden piles. It's not virtuous to let it pile up, but finally getting around to it is more virtuous than lighting a huge bonfire. But the impulse is sure there. #xpost

@neon I don't exactly know them all by heart, but agree they're magical. I also love them.
Instance admins, I've got settings set to WEB_CONCURRENCY=4 and MAX_THREADS=5 on sidekiq. Here's what my dashboard looks like. I'm not sure how to make heads or tails of whether I need more workers or threads. https://cute.group/media/6KQlgwiblNahzJVFBmc
@stickypaws it looks great, don't worry about failures, you can look at retries/dead to find interesting stuff sometimes, if enqueued grows and you have too much unusued CPU add concurrency/threads. Best I found is concurrency=(amount of cores/cpu threads) threads=10-50

@shanaqui Both wordpress.com and wordpress.net have support options. If your Wordpress install is self-hosted, you'd want to go to wordpress.net. If hosted on wordpress.com, then go with support there too. Note that .net support is usually slower since it's not well-funded, but they usually get around to you. If you have proof it's a Jetpack problem, you may be able to sneak into the .com support stream even if you're self-hosted.
