On the FB, there's a renewed discussion of men-who-call-themselves-feminist and whether we should call ourselves something else. I think it's because a bunch of fake-seeming bros are now sort of predatorily calling themselves feminist, but as with all movements and generalizations, it catches those of us with more profound investments up in it too. I'm not offended that I may need to change self-labeling. But do I? To what? FYI: I am trans/intersex.

@perigee It feels like broadcasting one's male feminist status is a bit poisoned by the behavior you mention, but I think that another label won't solve the basic issue. As a cis man, I have very very little to contribute to feminist spaces, and it seems prudent to support and take actions for the movement as much as possible. Letting actions speak for your principles sidesteps trying to earn trust through declarations.
