When tidying up my garden do I get to stop once the council garden waste bin is full?
In the end you can untick all the tick boxes with JavaScript in the dev console so that has been my compromise. But I would rather there were not pervasive surveillance that needed deconsenting in the first place.
I think Oath is particularly bad (a) because it is owned by a cable company with a poor reputation already and (b) Oath is what my grandfather used to say instead of swearing
I am having real trouble getting past the Oath privacy policy on Tumblr. I know they have been sharing my data all along but somehow being invited to consent to it makes it worse
@gargron Looks good to me. I've been there—when I was working on a commercial site so explicit warnings naturally not desired by the higher-ups. I did manage to get us to say direct message rather than private tho which seems more honest.
I am sad because I tried to visit Tumblr and now they have been taken over by Skynet Human Exploitation Incorporated and I have some Privacy Policy homework to do instead
I drew some cards of my ridiculous son to thank Ezra and Laurel's parents for helping us with our farm dreams. ONE thing off the to-do list anyway!

Was struggling with a blog post. Decided to tweak the stylesheet, which requires Less, which I run with Make, which requires a reinstall of the command-line developer tools
@shingworks A discovery that could upend the diet-books industry
Some advice
Today we were mostly not so much gardening as carving out a picnic space in the middle of the rampaging foliage. 🙂
Due to the curious anatomy of my house it is possible to trip on the stairs and fall up the other set of stairs. All shook up now.
@sesquipedality I think it's more that there is no point complaining about it anymore. I still think it was pretty pointless and the complaint that there are issues with Twitter much more urgently in need of correction still stands.
Excellent evening out dancing into the small hours at Intrusion 💃🕺
Short bursts of picnic prep in the garden in the hot sunny weather punctuated by cooling off indoors.
@zigg My mostly-joking alternative is to create an image format that is explicitly an picture of text. The issue is finding a way to make it easier to use than just mashing the screenshot button.
@zigg I rather wish that micoblogging sites, rather than for example increasing the utterance length from 160 to 280 characters had instead allowed for arbitrary lumps of text to be attached in the same way images are.
Please don’t post screenshots of text. Depending on who is seeing it, they could be annoying, hard to read, or impossible to read.
Post links to the text or something you want to quote, and transcribe important parts into your toot.
If a screenshot is unavoidable, use the feature for describing an image with text to transcribe the important part of the text.
Thanks for making the fediverse a friendlier place for everyone. 👍🏻 #mastotips
