Everyone, I've done it. I've found the very best thing on the Internet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Od1-koPkMjI
@MattRose The only example that comes to mind is fictional: Star Trek. No one in that society produces anything, and all consumption needs are met (along with many wants as well). Obviously this example is spurious, as we never see the means of production for non-military individuals.
@starbreaker Revolution, then? Is it not possible for this to be a peaceful evolution instead? I admit that would take significantly longer, but it could then happen without the chaos of a complete economic collapse.
Economy cannot exist without a society. Society is not so encumbered. Is a society without economy tenable? What would it require?
@casper I don't get much use from sharing my thoughts, and use networking primarily as a means of learning more about those I follow. Having an individual conversation (like so) is much more fulfilling than shouting into the void hoping that someone has heard.
I love connecting, and I don't often feel connected through a screen.
@casper I suppose a better question is: what need do social networks fulfill, and how do they fill that need better than non-digital means?
Who are social networks for?
@beej I'm following you! I don't know what good this network serves, but I'm here now!
