Who are social networks for?
@casper I suppose a better question is: what need do social networks fulfill, and how do they fill that need better than non-digital means?
@casper I don't get much use from sharing my thoughts, and use networking primarily as a means of learning more about those I follow. Having an individual conversation (like so) is much more fulfilling than shouting into the void hoping that someone has heard.
I love connecting, and I don't often feel connected through a screen.
@paronomasiac Technology is changing the way we live and interact (love or hate it) and we're here to adapt with it. As the internet is suppose to bring us closer, we often feel like there's still a barrier. Glad to hear from you and let's connect! Share what you have to say or toot interesting topics. We're all here to make Mastodon a greater community.
@paronomasiac That's an interesting question to begin with. Well, I'm just using it as a mean to deliver my insight and value, mostly about work, to larger audiences but it may vary from time to time. What about you? Do you look it as another mean of voicing out? I would love to hear more about it.
P.S. Personality online and in real life may differ based on individuals. (I've met many)
