Ugh. That "make me a channel of your peace" thing? SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI DIDN'T WRITE IT. It's been dated to early-20th-century France. It's not found anywhere in his writings. Cut. It. Out.

Also, he can send us to another platform, but many (most?) of us continue to use Facebook regularly for a multitude of reasons, and it's an easy access platform for someone like me.

@craigmaloney @Stonekettle Patreon. His minions send him money through monthly Patreon donations. Worth every penny.

@Stonekettle @starbreaker He works really hard at his job, and gets small amounts of money from many (including me) for his attention to current events. It really is hard work, but his cadre of flying monkeys truly appreciate him.
We hate it when he's threatened, and Facebook deems him the problem. He's not. We miss him. Sanity in the midst of chaos.

Can we propose a tax on the sale of all guns and ammunition to pay for the creation of trauma centers across the country? We can start at a 1% tax, with a provision that every time there is shooting with 4 or more injured, in any of the states of territories, the tax goes up 0.01%. Seems like a very small percentage, but we would very quickly have a very high tax rate. We could even cap it at no more than a 30% tax rate. Incentive to institute meaningful gun control.

My new campaign is to push harder for universal health care whenever we have another mass killing, so that at least those who don't die won't be bankrupt from their injuries. The NRA has purchased too many politicians for meaningful gun reform, but maybe we can at least pay for the medical care of the injured.
Better yet, impose a tax on the sale of guns, even between private parties, and ammunition, and use the proceeds to fund trauma care. More mass shootings? Higher tax rate!

I finished The Dance of the Dragons today. Now I'll have no escape literature for when I am depressed over the state of America. I'm only half kidding; it seems to me that Westeros often has more compassion and honor than our current government.
I think there are some Lisbeth Salander books I haven't read that will be a good escape.
Thank God for novels!

@dedbees My most recent visitor wanted to know all the back roads to avoid the freeways of Portland, and still cross the rivers. Uh...... Thankfully there's Google Earth to show her how to navigate the onramps, and lessen her fear. It helps that Portland is known for having courteous drivers.

The new SNL season begins for me (PDT) in 10 minutes. So much has happened since they ended last season. Looking forward to weekly editions of the news through their lense.

One of the many who followed @Stonekettle to the new medium. ☺ Hoping for good discussions, and less vitriol.
