The last time I was in Abu Dhabi I brought my wife with me. We tacked on a week's vacation, rented a small SUV and drove down through the edge of the Empty Quarter to Muscat, then back up the Omani Coast to the UAE and then over to Dubai. I'm currently in Abu Dhabi preparing to teach a course in security testing for mobile phones, followed by a course on cryptographic testing to the FIPS 140-2 standard. It's been over 100°F/40°C here every day and I'm looking forward to returning to more tolerable temps in Canada in about 12 days. I've been doing this kind of traveling since I got out of the Navy more than 40 years ago and it never gets old!
