@marquesi I don't understand the reluctance to accept the word 'toot'. In the grand scheme of world events in 2017 it is not even remotely weird. Really, the the media has to say "The president of the United States tooted today...." would the embrasing part more likely be before or after the elipses? Stand tall and TOOT!
and this social network— mastodon— doesn't need to go viral or be overhyped. this is what people need, simplicity at its finest. i bet most of the people here are those who are tired of seeing crazy people with crazy minds (literally) on the other networks. world's getting messier out there, but i hope that this network only contains the calm and positive people.

@munin Is that really feasible in an environment where anyone can fire up an instance? To me that would create more exceptions / complication. Would rather just rely on a separate services for public vs. secure communications.

It's nice that mastodon is supported by a large corporate sponsor but having a button dedicated to The CW is a bit much.
