@han_dall You can't 'change' instances. By default you local feed is only your instance... federated is yours and the friends of friends on all federated instances.... to find someone on another instance you have to use 'username@instance.domain' in the search.
@oneoffsuit what if you don't know what the domain is and want to find people?
