So I quit FB awhile ago and literally nobody has reached out to ask what’s up. Just. It’s a curiously dead platform even when you’re using it “correctly.”
@odinsdream hell, given Facebook's algorithms, it's quite possible that your posts got hidden from people following you, including your "I'm leaving Facebook, this is where to find me" ones.
I've been thinking about a couple people whose lives I miss having a little window into via Twitter. I should drop them a note to say hey, how's it going, hope all is well. We just get used to having these little micro-updates to see how our friends are doing.
@odinsdream when I deleted mine, way back in 2007, only one person messaged me (via LiveJournal) and that was only because I reset my profile to defaults before deletion and they thought I was getting a divorce. 😂😂😂
@odinsdream yeah, no one notices when people go fb-missing. my original account got suspended because of 'real name' policies, and no one noticed
@odinsdream FB is...strange and has long ceased to be a place where people can stay in touch. I think a lot of people mainly just tend to their own timelines these days and not really pay attention to who's still in their friend list.
@odinsdream I’m not even really saying I expect or want people to reach out. It’s just, so cold and empty and callous.
