Sigh, dude in my office slack. Yes, yes we have sexual harassment issues in this office. Even though you don't think so.
Like my first day my coworker was telling me how many of the women in the office he'd like to "date".
@odinsdream I'm sure it existed in my last workplace, but I was isolated from a lot of that because I wasn't a pretty "girl" and after transition I wasn't "really a man." It was weird.
@afabulous yeah i hear that. it's just such a pattern;
work: sends out "hey sexual assault is a thing"
man: "ok so i hear you talking about sexual assault and im An Ally but surely this isn't a problem HERE cause I haven't heard about it"
women: *all leave the chat*
@afabulous yep, totally agreed on this.
@odinsdream 1. men should trust women when they say a thing happens;
2. women (rightly) don't trust men to believe them;
3. harassment is thus often invisible to men. The blame for this is square on men but this is how I see the process. Women absolutely broke their personal connections to me post-transition. I hate it but understand it.
