- changing interface names after I got new server up-and-running, and tested it with a reboot to be sure

Is this because I ran updates and rebooted again?

THIS IS A SERVER! Server network configuration SHOULD NOT CHANGE after I configure, test, reboot, and test again. Not application TCP ports, and not interface names.

it's wild how many IPv4 /8 networks were given out in the early days of the Internet

Ability to upload MP3 files complete with an enclosure tag added to the RSS for that account that allows anyone on Mastodon to have a podcast without needing a different service.

I want the software driving cars around my family to be held to the a similar standard of quality. In the context of self-driving cars, "Move fast and break things" means "Half-arse it and kill people."

Humans in the USA manage 1.16 fatalities per 100,000,000 miles travelled. Uber's software couldn't even get to 3 million miles before it killed someone.

We do this properly, or not at all.

@dc7ia OM and YL (Young Lady) get on my nerves too. I don't know if it's internationally used, but in the UK a lot of people use XYL to mean 'wife'.

Time to dump such anachronisms if we are going to get people who don't live in the 1950s interested in amateur radio.
