There are good Free options now. Time to get out of the proprietary SaaS lock-in.

@nivex Note that one big reason that Matrix got Mozilla's vote was that they are - by a wide margin - the strongest option out there in terms of community safety and accessibility.

@nivex We've seen several open source projects using Discord, too. Same thing!

@nivex even if you don't care about FOSS ideals, using what amounts to a thinly-veiled datamining/surveillance operation as a communication platform is disrespectful to your users or community members.
