Some can see dog some cannot. :(

@organon aw darn it, others could see it. So frustrating.

@shanaqui yaaay. Last time I posted I could see it but others could not. I wonder what was up.

Did this picture of a dog come through? (Last time trying to post pics with amaroq before I conclude it does not work)

Do I know how to party or what?

Yaaaaaaay weekend! Gonna read and walk and read and walk

@mab it was a blast! I don't really get the point of having separate parties.

@JaneNX01 then I'd really need a way to move accounts

@mab the only one I went to that was terrible was my sister's. (Penis shaped everything, drunken flirting, ugh) My husband and I had a combined party.

@deafferret masto is short for mastodon in general. It seems like it is far from consensus but many people feel like politics deserves a content warning. This instance seems like other big instances in that regard. I disagree, and will proceed as normal.

@SafteyBot I was thinking about his too. Will we split into islands of interaction? Social justice, politics, art, etc? What happens when I exist across these things or want to move between them?

Given that mastodon nodes *aren't* usually run by a corp with a lot of money, are they more susceptible to shake down by large entities (e.g. the US government) than Twitter?

One thing I do really miss from twitter is quote retweets.

Replacing Nokogiri with Ox for XML rendering has definitely shaved off a lot of ms from PubSubHubbub distribution jobs. But most importantly Atom feeds now render 2x faster on average (that due to additional query optimizations, though, not just Ox)

Blah. Thanks for listening to me whine. I would post another dog pic for balance but I don't think they are coming through. :(

Don't be ashamed or afraid if you're not able to process what's happening tonight. We're all fighting for ourselves, and others. Everyone has their limit, and every day hurts or helps people differently.

Just because someone is hurting worse, doesn't mean you aren't hurting. That's the great thing about communities like those that are growing on Mastodon. When you can't handle anymore there is someone who can and will.

@pearwaldorf I do post a lot on social networks. I stay off of facebook precisely because people tell me I should only post happy stuff. I guess I was hoping for a place more balanced than that.

Now that I have switched my post to unlisted for real this time: I really do find it disturbing that I've only been checking masto for hours and then I finally check in on other social networks and learn about bombings. I understand not wanting to be stressed all the time and finding a balance, it's something I struggle with but there's also a time to discuss serious shit. I dunno. Life is hard.
