rip implicit primitive dicard? sounds like the hardware was built to support, but implementation was too complex or not worth the potential gains? this was definitely an exciting feature of vega I hoped would get more love as drivers matured. looks like explicit discard is possible, but would take developer attention and given Vega's current market share, *mutters, trailing off*

@amd thanks for fixing the dx9 issues with the newest drivers. i can put some more time into now.

amd 2600 zen refresh on 12nm looking to have a 200MHz clock bump (to 3.4 GHz base, 3.8 GHz boost) based on an entry on the SiSoft database. if the entry is valid, it is unsure whether the chip is a final version or an early engineering sample, so clock rate could go up a little...although 200 MHz is about the low end of what I was expecting, but within reason...especially for a 65w variant.

the tech day at was a good show. nothing groundbreaking, but more mobile variants and ryzen with vega (desktop apu) in Q1 is something! the few comparisons against OG ryzen were promising, too.

now the new drivers (which I like!) are breaking some dx9 games!? c'mon, guys! i know it is sad that i've not finished yet and haven't played it since i built my new machine, but it is still on my list of the next few games i should finish and having to roll-back drivers is a real pain. find the common issue and fix it to avoid the bad press!

these 2 rumors are out of hand. we'd all love to believe 12 cores/24 threads at 5.1 GHz is possible...but I'm thinking 8c/16t at 4.5 GHz is optimistic. the upcoming roadmap should be fun to watch, regardless!

and getting some bad press over the Rx 560 situation where some have less CUs than others. Unless the lower CU variants had higher core clocks or something to offset the performance difference, this seems pretty shady... And even then I'd want an explanation. Hope they clear this up or fix it! anandtech.com/show/12122/amd-s

had a less than glowing review and someone else, notebookreviews, maybe, had a much more positive one. sounds like, in short, graphics performance is way above igp but usually falls behind anything dedicated, occasionally competing with a few-year-old tech. cpu seems pretty good, with some single-thread stuff still behind intel. no throttling in one review, but another had power usage higher than expected. wanna see a few other takes on it, for sure!

excited to see some unbiased mobile reviews! it'll be nice to consider when recommending notebooks from now on, plus I think they may make some interesting all-in-one machines. plus when configured for 35w-65w for desktop use (2018q1?)

He went to ! I thought there would be some type of non-compete or something...wish him well and am definitely curious how he will impact the blue team!

I'm still betting / Technology Group ( ) lead Raja Koduri ends up with

So is this #AMD + #Intel colaboration just a one-off, or could we see quad-core ultrabooks capable of mid-trier gaming from now on? #excited

@nickchapman my one friend who may have taken my advice may not be a friend anymore... wow. this drop is still happening. 10 has always been my safety...even though the stock *should* rebound

if you have an pro4 motherboard with two DIMMs and aren't getting the memory speed you expect, make sure you are using the A2 and B2 slots (not the A1 and B1 slots like I was). once i did that, my corsair 3200 memory worked with the expected xmp profile timings. of course, make sure your BIOS is updated.

my stock advice was bad again, i thought the earnings call would send them over $15. the mild guidance really caused more of a negative reaction than i expected (and feel it should have). i imagine they'll surpass the modest guidance, but it makes sense to set cautious expectations since had a reasonable counter at Ryzen with

so i guess is , so i really got a "champion pack" which lets me use other avatars with varying powers, abilities, etc. these avatars can be purchased or, i think, "won" by collecting points in the game. not that the "game" had anything to do with my CPU choice, but still felt i should clarify.

i'm guessing will be on the rx 500 line, or this ad (published 10/16) makes no sense:
