If you feed wild birds, and you're in an area where the temps are unusually low, you may want to give the birds some water, too. Our area is in a drought, so even the little water they normally depend on is probably frozen right now. It doesn't have to be complex, I put out a little plastic bowl, and the chickadees are sipping from it.

Be nice to your UPS driver: I knew the weight of what I had ordered, so I zipped outside when I saw the UPS truck. I said "You can set it down *right there* [in my driveway], and I'll get it with my hand truck." He gets points for not setting it down until I said "hand truck" (you know, feasibility), but the sincerity of his THANK YOU astounded me.
I was going to wrangle it inside the house anyway, and I didn't mind starting sooner. I'm glad I could spare his back too.

Dear server, I wanted to SLEEP, not get paged all night!
Me, most nights: My feet feel warm enough, so I don't need to turn on my foot warmer (heating pad).
I turn it on anyway.
Also me most nights: I HAD NO IDEA MY FEET WERE SO COLD! I LOVE YOU, FOOT WARMER!
And that's why I always turn on my foot warmer. There will always be many cool spots in bed, and I don't always know I need that hot spot until I use it.
Cold feet prevent me from falling asleep, so this helps with one aspect of my insomnia.

A while back, unsure of what size I would want, I bought a set of jumbo crochet hooks in sizes P and Q.
That was totally a missed opportunity! If the set had been sizes N and P instead then my selection of crochet hooks would be NP-complete!
Fresh homemade bread is disturbingly don't-eat-the-whole-loaf good.
(I was already hungry for a snack, and I only ate half of a very small loaf.)
