I guess I can't imagine how a project can be "meta about the hackerspace" then, if "hey let's organize an anti-racist event for the space" or "let's create a code of conduct" do not count as meta but as projects *in* the hackerspace... can you name an example of what would be "meta"?
@rixx @sandzwerg @xpac @MacLemon I guess I've never been part of any hackerspace precisely because I've always felt they'd need to change/be more aware of certain topics before I can actually join. Which would definitely put me in the meta category.
I don't know if this is wrong though, it's debatable if people like me shouldn't be "space invaders" that kinda force unpolitical people to think about e.g. consequences of their actions, their openness, anti sexist measures and so on...

What does it look like in Tusky when someone blocked me on Mastodon? I found I don't follow a person anymore, and I can still see mutual followers but profile is empty for me and doesn't show toots, while they *do* show when I open the profile in a browser window where I am not logged in. Also trying to follow again gives me an unnamed error.
It would be helpful to get a clear message about being blocked like on Birbsite, is that not possible?

A concrete rebuttal to "I don't see race": a number of facial-recognition developers famously ignored race too, and - having failed to actually test a variety of skin tones - ended up with software that literally couldn't see black people.
