For god's sake, I don't even go outside very feminine-looking most of the time. I rarely do makeup. I know I pass as a girl when I wear dresses, mostly thanks to laser hair removal... well at least until I use my voice (but that won't change with HRT).

At the same time, I know that psychologically, I am definitely transfeminine and some sort of nonbinary. And I'm curious for sure. But this is such a huge thing...

If anyone can help me sort this out, please do. (boosts welcome)

@natanji It honestly depends on what you're going for. Gonna say as a non-op almost masc-leaning enby on HRT:

-You'll get considerably smoother skin.
-Your body fat is likely to shuffle around and feminize your frame
-You're almost guaranteed SOME degree of boobs.
-HRT will change how you think and feel. Drastically. Estrogen will make you feel more emotional, possibly more cuddly/craving for gentle affection and social connection.

@natanji I can confirm the lowering of my libido and that started very quickly after starting the HTR. I can also confirm that it's more work to get an erection, although I seems to be easier since I started taking Progestan instead of Androcur. Different meds definitely change things.

Regarding children: It's about 350€ yearly to get semen perserved + a one time fee.

@natanji unless your doctor is very, very knowledgeable on these subjects (like, to the point of having many trans patients who arent just binary TWs or having personal experience) then i really wouldnt trust them.

are you concerned about these changes because ability to concieve, or because they would be changes to something you are otherwise happy with as they are?

i think that the thing about libido is not necessarily true. ppl have different experiences and i think its kinda gender essentialist to say it that estrogen means lower libido. in my experience, my sexual drive changed, but i would not call it less.

@natanji i dont want to be rude, but i think its worth investigating if the fear over losing libido is actually a fear of the unknown. you dont know how it will be, and maybe fear you wont feel aroused/hard/sexual again. none of that is true. and i think to deal with the fears, i think you could try it out and if its too much of a change for you, you can stop and things will go back, and you will still be able to conceive. just my thought about finally answering the questions you have, that you can never know the answer to until you find out for yourself. no one can tell you how it will be for u...

@natanji i dont think that having a body that fits your self image better is a 'just' or a small thing :) thats dysphoria, thats a solution. its not an extreme thing for a tiny problem. its actually a normal solution to a valid problem. the issue of NB people not fitting in to trans healthcare is the problem, not your body image nor your desire to possibly have more kids. there needs to be more support for nb ppl who maybe dont want some aspects of hrt, but do want others, and have a hard time deciding what to do. i will, if u like, ask around again for some ppl who have experience with this. also, like i said, its ok to try and see.
