Interesting: I've spent some time on mastodon.cloud today. Not many behavior rules. Just a little "Dont be a jerk" and the usual stuff. I like that idea of freedom. But the local stream is not very interesting.
Now, I've read a little bit on octodon.social. Here we have a set of precise rules about CW and hiding potentially offensive speech. I don't like so much the concept of these strict rules. Feels like being in a classroom with a strict teacher.
But the local stream is very interesting.
@rateldajer Ah right, thanks. I like clear hints. Would be helpful maybe to have mastodon say in short what you said, rather than just saying the user's from another instance.
Well, there are many things to like here. But I really hope some inconveniences can be fixed.
Like the stats on profiles when they are from another instance. Those numbers are way off in many cases, it seems to me.
@gentlemenbegga Right. How can you know which server to trust... I guess that's the problem you see with mastodon running like it is now?
@gentlemenbegga I have no expertise and just now joined. But i noticed an export/import feature. So i guess you can reuse some data if you do backups regularly?
