Zea Mays' cover of "Gogo eta gorputzaren zilbor hesteak" ("The Umbilical Cords of the Body and Mind"), originally recorded by Mikel Laboa. I love Aiora Renteria's voice, and I love this arrangement.

@tindall Alright, continued again: I personally have been involved in some really heated discussions on MeTa. In a few cases, I got so angry I almost quit. But the moderators on actually care what we think and so do most other MeFites. I've seen things change for the better as result. I'm pretty much committed to the site now.

@tindall To continue about MeteFilter & MetaTalk: After arguing about policy on MeTa most of us end up feeling like we had a say in what happens and support the site's policies, even though the ultimate decision are up to the mods. I haven't really been anywhere else that feels like that. We also debate site ettiquette on MeTa a lot. That's not formal moderation policy per se, but these discussions can make a difference.

@tindall It's the best-moderated I've seen on the internet. Most MeFites live in the US, most the remainder in other English-speaking countries, a smattering of people from other countries. If you really want to get a feel for the site, you should look at this subsite:

metatalk.metafilter.com/

MetaTalk ("MeTa") is where site announcements get posted and where site policy gets debated, Policy discussions can get really heated, but I think the existence that forum makes the site what it is.

In case you're wondering, are members of this site:

A bunch of us joined Mastodon last weekend after the twitter boycot. Unlike most other MeFites who joined, I've never had a twitter account.

I'm trying the thing again because I forgot to use hashtags when I first joined. I'm a and I live in VA. I'm interested in . We've elections coming up next month in .

👋

@mrgah it's definitely not a US spelling.

@jond OK. If you're up here sometime, you should say hi.

@miriam I'm pretty sure it always has to be "submitted". I've certainly never "submit" used in the past tense. Words like put, bet and shed that don't change are really small set. Words like submit borrowed from Latin or other foreign languages almost have regular past tense forms in English.

Hi, y'all. I'm another MeFite who just joined Mastodon. My username means carpenter in Sumerian (usually transcribed naĝar), and that was my occupation till recently.
