SCOTUS has ruled that the California FACT act - requiring fraudulent anti-abortion "crisis pregnancy centers" to disclose that they weren't licensed medical professionals - is unconstitutional because it's "forced speech" and violates the first amendment.

I 100% guarantee that within a year we'll see tobacco companies using this case to argue that the surgeon general's warning on cigarette packs isn't legal either.

Hello everyone, I am opening up for nominations for books for the August book. We still have a decent number of books in the poll but there's always room for new additions. I will put the poll up on July 3rd with all of the new nominations plus roll overs from last month, and then I will close the poll July 10th. #amreading “Apocalypse Nyx” by Kameron Hurley. Gritty SF action-thriller (actually a collection of novellas). Tough women. Guns. Bug-based technology. Recommended if you like those things, or if you like grizzled action-movie protagonists but wish they weren’t all guys.

I feel like Lola Bunny did a much better job of convincing kids of the 90s to be furries than it did of convincing anyone that Bugs is straight.

"This is a travesty," the dwarf muttered into his wine goblet, standing beside the buffet table.

An old human nearby jerked her head and hissed, "How can you say that? Haven't you ever seen two men more in love?"

The dwarf's face reddened as he grumbled dourly, "It's... not THAT at all... it's..."

"Because one's an elf and one's an orc?" accused the human.

"What, no! ...Though what DOES K'ord have that I don't?" sniffled the dwarf.
