I still love that "Supergirl" has so many female characters talking with each other about life. Sure, half the reason they pass the low bar of the Bechdel test is that one character is a lesbian, but there are a ton of strong female characters, one of whom is a lesbian.

halfway through _The Obelisk Gate_ (the second in the Broken Earth series) and it's so good

most people know how awful BMI is at actually measuring physical health.

but quite literally, BMI answers the question "if the human body were approximated by a square, how dense would it be" and I find this explanation hilarious, amazing, and sad.
