Street urchin determines to apprentice himself to the best (and nihilistic) "wetboy" (wetboys sneer at mere assassins) in a medieval fantasy setting. Many deaths ensue.
It's not bad, but it's not special. The tone jumps around, as does the scope (is this about the apprentice/mentor relationship? About local or regional politics? Why is it suddenly multiple-perspective?).
Meh. I'll finish it, but probably won't read the sequels.
