friday feeling: working on a project that basically requires #javascript while also hating everything that it stands for, but also this project would be very useful to a lot of people, but javascript sux, etc.
@moz Can't you do everything server-side?
@starbreaker no. we need a live map view that users can filter and pan around. a majority of the data processing will be done server-side but we still need to deal with JS for the map and UI.
@starbreaker at least it's Django and not Node.js
@moz I'll take your word for it 'cos I'm not experienced with Django.
@starbreaker it's basically Python but a web framework, kinda neat and connects very well with GIS and databases. seems like a mostly sane and mature webdev option.
@moz LOL. I know what Django is; I've just never had a reason to work with it. :)
