As of yesterday, 972,099 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Italy, and the number is expected to reach one million today, in a country of 60 millions. There’s a lot to do and the second phase of the vaccine rollout will have quite a lot of obstacles, but that number – one million – gives me a bit of hope.

Whiteness is like an elite family, an institution that will use any means necessary to protect itself from threats from below *even while parts of it may be in lethal conflict*.

Whites will defend their collective ability to dominate us even when they don't fuck with each other at all.

Whites will put down slave revolts even in the midst of wars with each other (if they lack confidence they can control them).

It's this reflex of self-protection that must be subverted.

if you're white and you use the internet, you have a duty to ensure that the spaces you are in are not a safe space for white supremacists. no, "oh but I like this person and they've never done anything in MY group" -- listen to us. listen to what we have to say. report people to the mods or if it's an ongoing problem, *leave the fucking group and let people know why you're leaving*.

make mods explain their decisions. make it uncomfortable. make it weird.

it's the LEAST you can do.

current news (incl. uspol & pandemic) 

It occurred me yesterday night that I am experiencing news fatigue, but it’s different from the previous times, because I get that fatigue even if I focus on a limited number of topics, namely the pandemic and the coup in the US. Trying to get all the details and breaking news that are being shared about those two topics is becoming impossible, let alone trying to follow what is going on in the rest of the world too.

Instances and moderation 

I know that when you're coming from somewhere like Instagram or Twitter a large instance without very hands on moderation doesn't seem too bad

But the thing is, there are active instances of fascists and all kinds of bigots on the fediverse, and if you don't have an active moderation team a whole lot of nasty stuff can get through, which then puts everyone you're federated with at risk

Moderating a big instance with lots of new users is *hard* and it usually ends badly
