@Iuckyduck My antipodes are currently in the Pacific Ocean, but I'd be okay with travelling around to find the right spot and make the sandwich come true!

@Iuckyduck One of my dream projects is to find someone willing to be at my antipode at a precise moment in time. Then both of us lay a piece of bread on the ground, and voilà, we've made an Earth sandwich

the plural of vertex is vertices, so the plural of regex must be... regices

The European Union is attempting to pass a new copyright regulation that will instead destroy the internet.

Article 13 requires all sites to host non-free copyright tracking bots, which will make heaps more harm than good.

If any of you is an user, be aware that it's time to vote for the new official movie lists: icheckmovies.com/blog/polls+fo

Two of the candidates have been added to the site by yours truly, but they're not my favourite ones – I'm rooting for the ones about Black and female directors, which would be a much needed addition to the official roster.

Have a messy, messy, painting of what Pisa looks like during "Luminara", tonight.
I'm not gonna go near the river this year.

As someone who has to clean his glasses very often, I am quite pleased with my choice to buy, like, 20 wiping cloths at once and putting one in every coat, rucksack, piece of luggage and desk organizer I use

Me telling twitter engineers about the fact that sex workers used their platform & now can’t

One of them had heard of FOSTA/SESTA through a podcast; the other had no idea that sex workers used twitter. Both have now followed sex workers to hear their voices

I consider this good

It's also the site of a good Google Maps glitch: it mapped mid-demolition photographs onto a pre-demolition building shape and labeled it with post-demolition business names

@silkevicious Sembra una sorta di sciatalgia, ma ieri stavo bene e spero che se ne vada con la stessa velocità con cui è apparso

@CountZero The curators didn't explain it, also because it was only one scroll out of 39, while the others were clearly written in Arabic. They mentioned the Dead Sea Scrolls as the inspiration for the work, but I feel like it doesn't help much. What drives me mad is that I can't find any mention of this anywhere on the Internet 😮 Yeah, I also think it can be a secret alphabet – apparently the artist likes creating new ones!

@charlyblack @balrogboogie That's what I'm thinking! I just found a short biography of the artist that mentions “the invention of new alphabets” among his activities! aichitriennale.jp/2016/english

A question to all enthusiasts in the fediverse.

The picture shows one of artist Abdullah Al Saadi's Diaries, exhibited at the 2017 Venice Biennale of Art. He was born and lives in the UAE.

My question is: What language is it written in? Most of his diaries are in Arabic, but this does not look like it. It's written from right to left, so it's not Ethiopic or Tifinagh either. Any clues?
