@SlowRain That's frustrating, isn't it?
@SlowRain Perhaps.
Mostly I'm disappointed. There was an independent discussion space, and now it's gone. I guess the assumption is that everybody is already on FB, or will join for this. That says sad things about the state of the internet, IMHO.
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is really a story about how harassers/abusers suddenly turn "nice" when they want something from you.
@bradlibum Learn by doing. Make posts. Edit them. Publish them. If you get stuck, do a web search to see if you can find the answer yourself. Rinse, lather, repeat.
@gannet It is. I've just spent a few minutes removing all links from sites of mine to that site. A clean break is best, I think.
@segfault Nothing, except the desire to keep Facebook out of my life altogether.
This article explains some of the problems with #Facebook:

So, yeah. I want no part of any Facebook thing.
A website I have loved just announced that it is shutting down its forum, and moving the discussion to #Facebook. Sigh.
Well, I guess that's the end of my relationship with that site.
@wim_v12e Wow. That's gorgeous!
@stephastated OK, I wrote this for you: A public service announcement on how to get rid of leg cramps.

This is what worked for me, anyway.
@stephastated What causes them?
Yeah, that's Facebook for you. Give them another few years, and they'll be asking for a DNA sample before letting you into your account.
And still, what do most people do? Complain about it, yet continue to use #Facebook.

@venetianblond That sounds like an ambitious project!
Got any crochet projects underway?
Mastodon doesn't use smart algorithms to fill my feed with 'interesting content' and yet I find more interesting things here than on twitter.
