So now Medium is changing their rules, and so many who published their content on Medium are upset.
Where have we seen this before? Um, on every "free" service that is controlled by some corporation instead of by users.
@starbreaker Good for you. Yeah, this kind of stuff is one reason I have a blog: I want to be in control of my own content.
@mirabilis
Super secret fact that people don't seem to know about: The Internet is made of servers that anyone can own and launch a blog on - all for yourself! No one to tell you what you can or can't do on it! Don't tell anyone, shhhhh!
@trevdev But oh! That is so 2005. Why, since then everybody has moved on to places that SUCK.
(Except me. I still have a blog.)
@mirabilis I did come across the website a few times from like hackernews or slashdot and briefly wondered about it, but... never put much though into it.
Why would anyone give up self-hosting? Well, there you go.
@mirabilis got a good link about this?
Well, here's one:
Medium abruptly cancels the membership programs of its 21 remaining subscription publisher partners
@mirabilis I saw this coming from the beginning, which is why I don't syndicate my stuff to #Medium.
