If you compare the advancements made in open source and especially Free Software vs the advancements made in the proprietary world, we're losing. Our user tracking code is weak, our OSes are bloated with compatibility layers for cheap old systems, our UX gives people too much choice. It's bad business.

But we now have more open software than ever, with more supportive communities, & we're actually acknowledging and working on community problems.
