remember when yunnan sourcing had a decent site

@kaniini More points toward me self-hosting pleroma at a later date, cool!

@kaniini So something I wonder: how hard would it be to make a list of keywords to either autoexpand or autocollapse? It seems odd to me no one has pursued that yet (maybe it's my duty to if I want it...)

@snowcat Yeah definitely.

Doesn't look like the ticket has had much action lately either :\

@snowcat Are there any technical/security problems with OTR? I know it's less convenient for sure

@meena Oh, if you can get something you like with a porlex I'm probably good

@meena @KitRedgrave I've never tried turkish. How consistent does grind size have to be for good results? I have a lido2 I use for drip, but not really anything espresso-geared

@meena @KitRedgrave I wouldn't have imagined this working well, but I love the taste of cardamom, so I'll have to give that a shot someday

@KitRedgrave Honestly I bet you could make something super tasty with espresso + cayenne

I guess part of why I felt like complaining is that I feel like if someone saw Mastodon as "typical chat/web utility to self-host" they'd be scared off of doing other practical things they can do with a lot less

@CobaltVelvet If it was a public open thing you intended to offer As a Service like Octodon, then that's a more in line with this I guess...

@CobaltVelvet Yeah, maybe it's my bad in that I assume people are generally talking small or single-user instances in discussions like this

(I know Mastodon is a lot heavier, that's why it also pisses me off that people act like complaining about its perf/resource usage is quibbling)

XMPP is "my normal internet connection, $10 a year for a domain name, and a small ARM SBC"

These figures re: mastodon seem insane to me because they assume VPS only forever

Every time I go shopping for something I end up with absurdly specific reqs and just never buy it

@er1n Probably the way to do it honestly
