You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about your despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.

"It's just that brilliant women getting fucked over, and also having no pockets is really an ISSUE for me this year."

[Those are actually two issues. Brilliant women, and my personal lack of pockets.]

Also though, what makes "Taboo" (with Tom Hardy) brilliant is that it actually *is* penny dreadful. No pretense. No subtext. No subtlety. Just Tom Hardy in a Gothic Romance with Horror Sprinkles.

In *so* many ways, this is exactly what I want from genre TV.

My nails are Mrs. Mia Wallace red, I've had a Xanax, and I cried for the first time since this Weinstein news started the latest round of "can you open the paper without triggering yourself." I guess self-care night worked.

Doing the hard work of pretending I'm ok when I'm not today. But it's not fixable, just survivable.

I just bought a blue stretch-satin gown to wear at a convention. Hashtag adulting?

@sydneyfalk It's an analogue game actually. Probably will end up being cards, but might be a small booklet! More of a game to experience than one to play! (I only just saw this. :) )

And I hope you get to feel it sometime. I'd definitely like to feel the writing version. <3

Wonder Woman is the 51st highest domestic grossing film of all time. It...makes me feel like maybe, just maybe, not everything is shit in pop-media right now. (Losing Sense8 hit me hard.)

last week this unicorn in a box appeared on a street corner along my commute with no explanation and now it's just, there, I guess

the box gets more opaque the closer you get, which I presume is some kind of artistic statement. there's no sign or explanation or anything

though tbf this is no weirder than the last installation on this corner, which included, among other things, a metal sculpture of a man-sized ball of clutching human arms, all joined at the 'shoulder' witches.town/media/Ug1t-_Iz_Io witches.town/media/uGPkngcU-fA

Started work on my next game today. Feels weird to be creating something analogue, but also good. Lighter. Like climbing back out of the cave.

Also got a decent InspiroBot. octodon.social/media/MpowDK71f

The curse of being an order muppet is finding Maurice Moss funny because the struggle is real.

"At the dances I was one of the most untiring and gayest. One evening a cousin of Sasha, a young boy, took me aside. [...] he whispered to me that it did not behoove an agitator to dance. [...] My frivolity would only hurt the Cause.

[...] I was tired of having the Cause constantly thrown into my face. [...] I insisted that our Cause could not expect me to become a nun and that the movement would not be turned into a cloister. If it meant that, I did not want it." -- Emma Goldman

"If you are my friend, stand up before me
and scatter the grace that's in your eyes." (sappho)

[maybe I'll be here more.]

I wonder if every bio I ever write could be Raymond Chandler quotes. There's a place where I use, "She had eyes like strange sins," and it really tickles me.

Now the Sirens have a still more fatal weapon than their song, namely their silence... Someone might possibly have escaped from their singing; but from their silence, certainly never. (franz kafka)

@craigmaloney Dr. Seuss' "You're Only Old Once" comes to mind. (A personal favorite...which I hilariously gave one of my senior year college references when I graduated.)
