The idea I'm toying with at the moment is... did you ever watch Mushi-shi? This idea of peaceful-but-potentially-dangerous spirits, that all have different ways to be avoided/made harmless. I'm not sure exactly how it'd work, but thematically I think it's a really interesting space.
@Mainebot I've had a similar idea actually! A combat medic on a pcg battlefield - avoid shells, improvise bandages and disinfectants, etc. With some neat movement mechanics and probably some ideas cribbed from Trauma Center - I reckon it'd could be a fun game! But it still feels like it's *about* violence, even if the player isn't perpetrating it.
I wanna make a roguelike but I hate making games that center around violence. So, I'm just always thinking about what a (good) pacifist RL looks like. My current thought is: pretty boardgamey

@mike it's pretty much a step function! I think there's a critical mass at which it just goes from "these specific people" to "a crowd".
@mike ooh - no! It's both! If they weren't strangers, that'd resolve the issue too! This is absolutely a multiple-distinct-causes problem.
I followed a bunch of people on here when I first joined but only like 3 of then are still active so upon returning my TL is just devoted to a very small handful of strangers and it feels almost invasive
I just found such a big spider in my back yard holy SHIT. I looked it up and it's an orb weaver so not dangerous but it's so spooky lookin and big! I have named her Flysbane Darkspyndle and she is now the garden's 🌚🕷️🙏sacred protector🙏🕷️🌚

I always get this idea in my head that people were less funny the further back in time you go just because old sitcoms are so bad.
