I mean fascism isn't about jackboots, it's about individual and collective liberties being squashed every time they come into conflict with corporate and government interests. you can get squashed by a smiley face. you can even think you like it while it's happening. that doesn't change the power dynamic.
@gargron well, that's the surest way to guarantee that I Google something...

Can we make this (or another post)
get +500 boosts, proofing that the argument to stay away from the #fediverse because one can here only reach out to a few is completly wrong?
Wondering how high the reach of this post is?
Well, we don't know. We don't track the users.
You only can see the boosts/fav/reply.
If that's a lot, it reached a lot.
If that made one rethink their opinion here you go:

@kibi snails are adorable. I'm not gonna turn down a sloth emoji either, though.
I wrote a super simple bot that boosts anything from a hashtag. The poor man's group feature. https://github.com/Gargron/boost-bot
@ink_slinger @gargron I think that means they are phrased very well.
Hey, when you #DeleteFacebook please keep in mind that, at the moment, it's the only way that a lot of us disabled/chronically ill folks get to discuss our illnesses.
Lots of us use the groups feature on fb to help each other find doctors, discuss symptom treatments, and get support around our illnesses.
So please remember not to shame people who can't or don't delete their account. It's not our fault that it's shitty and it's not our fault that we still need it.
@nynhex@mastodon.technology @kibi thank you for asking, we found a few decent options in our (quite low) price range, but have not made a move yet. This weekend will be swamped with other things.
@kibi you can do it! Just keep breaking it down to smaller pieces until they are simple. Make each small piece self contained. Some "smart" programmers never learn this, and every little thing they touch becomes so over-engineered and complicated that they don't even understand it themselves by the time they are done.
@kibi emacs is awesome but I am reasonably certain it won't help in an interview. Most of the industry is so busy chasing trends, people are only impressed if you use the latest cool IDE thing with a clicky interface that eats all your memory.

@kibi yeah... Me neither. Currently dreading going back to work after a weekend of house hunting. Hope you get a rest soon.
