The whole idea about #mastodon is great, however usernames/accounts should be organized in a different way. It would be great to have instance independent account.

On #github there is long topic about moving between #mastodon instances: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/177. What if my instance will be shut down? I can create account on other instance. But what about all my history? And all my friends have to add me with my new username? This sucks. I know that #twitter also can shutdown server but still this is less likely than some unknown instance admin.

Hello!!! We will see if this social network will survive. Usernames with two (at) characters are very strange. And there is no good iOS client (like #tweetbot). For now there is only one advantage: open sourced and distributed system.
