Omg. 'Bon appetoot!"

...
I'm dead 😱

When it rains, do you know where your runoff goes? The answer might surprise you, depending on where you live...

I lied, just one more toot:

Can I point out just how much I'm fascinated by this book cover? Especially the surprised-looking bald eagle taking over a quarter of the space! :joy: :joy: :joy:

@Erwhann Thanks to your toot I looked up Toki Pona for the first time. It's the cutest thing, I love it!

Thus ends my tootstorm about . I'll add some more facts and pictures after next week's practice. :)

So you know how hockey players are covered head to toe in padding? Not the case in ! The only required gear is a helmet, with optional facemask.

The guy putting us through drills said that the safest place to be is right up on another player. That's because when they swing, you'll be too close to hit with the end of the stick. Instead you'll get an elbow, or maybe the butt end of the hurley tapping you, but that's ok. octodon.social/media/m9h3ESoW6

@S0rceress0 Cool! I do too, when I have the chance. Do you have a favorite team?

is technically a men's sport. Women have a slightly different version called . Where I am, the local group creates co-ed teams, so it don't matter.

There's a multi-level league structure in Ireland under the Gaelic Athletic Association. They stream matches worldwide via the GAAGO service. I'm trying to convince myself to shell out for it. It's pricey, but I think I'll stick with the sport better if I can watch it too.

This is a hurley and a sliotar. (pronounced "hurley" and "slitter". Idk, gaelic is weird.)

Today I tried for the first time! It's a game played in Ireland where you have a stick kind of like a hockey stick, but with a flat roundish end. There's a ball that's a bit smaller than a baseball, but... you can't pick it up off the ground. Instead you have to squat and scoop it up from underneath with your flat pizza peel stick. My thighs are already letting me know what they think about THAT. D:

About to dive into some QGIS. Any folks out there got any hints or tips for me? I took a class on ArcGIS years ago, but I don't know how many of those skills will transfer over. Or how much I remember, tbh...

Okay, wrapping up this work and heading to bed now. I'll have time to make a better go of it in the morning! :muscle_tone4:

@daveskull81 Thanks! Felt great to finally achieve that win. And it did feel kind of great to break the Even Year Magic while we were on our way to breaking the Billy Goat Curse. Sorry not sorry. :joy:

@daveskull81 Neat to see another sports fan here, I haven't seen anyone else bring it up yet. I'm a Cubs and Fire fan.

@ashkumar oh my gosh, I love ! Visited in 2014 for the Women's World Cup, and I can't wait to go back!

@max Yeah, it happens. Sad stuff, but at least I've got fiber optic cables down here so I can tap into the Internet. Was it the one called Dead Wake?

@max Maybe the person that started this could use that to fundraise? Kinda like what Sealand does. sealandgov.org/
