@lopsigon might be their genuine opinion but they're hiding behind pretending it's a joke in case they get called out on it?

@rikke @lopsigon if you want to go even deeper, they might be ambivalent about it and using jokes to see about how they feel about taking the, uh, more 'controversial' side, while also desensitizing themselves to whatever makes that side controversial.

Could also just be a really bad joke though.
