without discussing the paper's claims, which are less exciting than the clickbaity title might suggest, I find the obsession/quest for human longevity absolutely terrifying... I'm not against research ofc, but from a very personal point of view the idea of extending life span as much as possible, even indefinitely, is pure horror

@catonano yeah the need to critically rethink the academic establishment is indeed a huge topic of discussion. and not only in terms of challenging neoliberal values but also challenging the very colonial framework of Western universities

@catonano yeah that's more and more possible with open source code that does not require much computational power to be run, that's not always the case ofc but it's definitely doable. the source code should be always released with every academic paper, if code is part of it, imo, open source should be the only option for academia

@feonixrift warping the for-profit use of clickbait and deploying it for good purpose, like sharing interesting content! can be quite interesting if not abused imo ;)
